If you want to walk amongst giants, crawl through lava-tubes, and speed across glaciers on a snowmobile, Iceland is the country for you. This action packed destination is a great choice for Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter (if you can bear it).
If you want to go during the winter months be sure to pack warm, and bring a flashlight. With winter temperatures reaching lows of -26.0°C (-14.8°F) you may want to try Spring or Fall.
Summer in Iceland is absolutely gorgeous (see below), and with the average sunset at Never o’clock May – July there is more time to spend outside. Iceland Air will also let you transfer through Reykjavik and stay up to 7 days at no extra cost.

Why Travel Here? 2) Ice and Fire 3) Extreme Experiences What you can expect? 2) Very Seasonal – As you can see from the pictures above, there is a big difference between summer and winter. The biggest difference probably is the amount of sunlight (think 6 months dark, 6 months light). 3) Expensive – It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity, and a small island where majority of things are imported, so be prepared to feel that exchange rate. 4) Sulfur – most of the hot water running through the pipes come from Iceland geothermic hot springs. Therefore you’ll probably notice the distinctive smell, but it’s very good for you! 5) Book lots of Tours – Reykjavik is a small city inside a small country, make sure you plan things to do during the day because this is not really a city break destination. Where should I go?
1) Northern Lights
4) Winter
5) Summer
1) Unique Food – fermented shark, whale steaks, and plenty more. Probably an acquired taste, but a must have while there.
